Favorite Nixon Biography

Post by Vibiant »

I am not the same level of Nixon-head that Alex Robinson is, but I have read a few and the most interesting to me has been "Richard Nixon; a Political and Personal Portrait" by Earl Mazo. It was written in 1959 and then briefly updated in 1960, before the election. Since it lacks the taint of Watergate it has maybe a more balanced opinion of that very complex man. I liked John Farrell's biography. For entry level reading i suggest Elizabeth Drew's entry on Nixon in the "American Presidents" series of short presidential bios

Well, this is a VERY old thread, but I'm gonna suggest this one:

Amazing book, and part of a fantastic 4 part (so far) series.
